Who are we?

The CJLD is a social and professional collective of young lawyers across Cambridgeshire. The CJLD hosts fun, varied and interesting events for young lawyers across the Cambridgeshire area. Our new Committee for 2024 looks forward to welcoming you all!

We are open to all Trainees, Paralegals, Legal Execs, Legal Apprentices, Students and NQs. Our goal is to encourage membership from as many different firms as possible. Join us here.

What do we do?

The CJLD offers a wide variety of different events for young lawyers in the Cambridgeshire area, including our Annual Ball. The CJLD provides a great opportunity to network with local lawyers, to develop your professional skills, to discover new and exciting work opportunities in Cambridgeshire, and (most importantly) to have a fun time!

What’s more, we are represented nationally in the Law Society’s Junior Lawyers Division and have ties with local businesses, universities and charities. Find out more about our charity work here.

But what’s in it for me?

If you’re new to Cambridgeshire and/or the legal world, the CJLD is a great way of meeting fellow young professionals – making friends and business connections, trying new things and seeing parts of Cambridgeshire that you may not have otherwise realised.

Students

If you’re a student in Cambridgeshire, take advantage of our special membership which is now free! This offer is open to all students (undergraduate, GDL and LPC) – you don’t even need to be studying law!
Membership is a great way to make connections in the legal sector, canvas excellent job opportunities, and discover whether a career in law is the right fit for you.
